Kutumb Facility Capital Campaign To Launch in April, 2010!

It has always been the dream of the Kutumb project to own land where the children can safely play and grow amidst trees and flowers under the open sky. Now you can help us make this dream a reality.

For six years Dr. Ashish and Puja have worked tirelessly in the modest three story concrete building they have leased. The location has served well as a center for the day shelter, educational and nutritional programs, but nights have been difficult for Dr. Ashish, his family and the 26 displaced children he cares for.

Pushing aside furniture, they sleep each night on mats placed on the concrete floor. There is no place outdoors for the children to run and play, and the surrounding slum is not always a safe place. Recently, changes in their lease have made the already difficult situation of living in this building untenable. While it can continue to function well for day services, it is time to create a true home for Dr. Ashish, the children who live with him and those who will inevitably come in the future.

Recently donated funds are allowing Dr. Ashish and Puja to purchase two and a half acres of land five miles from the Varanasi airport in the historic village of Rameshwaram. Here, amidst the mango and guava trees, the children will finally have the opportunity to have a real home. They will have space for gardens to grow their own food and for the children to play in the sunshine. Dr. Ashish will also build a medical clinic there that supports the surrounding area.

Vision Builders has raised $67,000 of the needed $200,000 to bring this dream into reality. This initial allocation of funds will allow for the land purchase, but additional funds are needed for developing the land and building the structures. Won't you help us reach our goal? Volunteer

We do not have the infrastructure to host a large-scale overseas volunteer program. However, as an all-volunteer run charity, there are many opportunities to help right here at home. We rely on volunteers for all administrative activity.
